PointCheckout wins Fintech Innovation of the Year at the FinX Awards 2019


Dubai – PointCheckout has been honored as the most innovative fintech company in the Middle East for the first time, bringing home the Fintech Innovation of the Year award at the FinX Awards 2019. The Awards are organized by FinteCh Galaxy, the MENA region’s only fintech digital crowdsourcing platform.


The FinX Awards aim to celebrate excellence in fintech and recognize the major players driving innovation in the industry. “Winning the ‘Fintech Oscars’ in the Middle East gives our team a tremendous encouragement to keep going. Special thanks to Fintech Galaxy team for continuing to drive the fintech industry forward” says co-founder and CEO Bashar Saleh. 


The award ceremony featured a key note presentation by Elias Ghanem of V.P Fintech at Capgemini and a panel including H.E. Rachid Al Maraaj Governor of Central Bank of Bahrain. Attending the invitation-only event were regulators, government officials, bank CEOs and investors and was held at the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Hotel on the Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. Fintech Galaxy founder Mirna Soleiman noted: “We continue to recognize the best innovations in fintech, in a MENA market currently estimated at $2 billion and is expected to witness an annual growth of $125 million until 2022”.


Other categories in the awards also include Most Innovative Arab Bank of the Year, MENA Fintech Startup of Year and MENA Fintech Accelerator of the Year among others. A full list of the winners can be found here
