PointCheckout launches new service to accept online payment without the need for a website or online store

Amman, April 13 - In light of the continuing lockdowns and the mounting losses for the retail sector, PointCheckout launched a new service called The PayLink, allowing merchants to accept online payment through SMS and WhatsApp links, in an effort to support the merchants in retaining sales without the need for an online store.

After the World Health Organization warned against the use of cash for its risk of transmitting the COVID-19 Coronavirus, and with citizens on curfew, merchants are turning to delivery services to sustain their revenue flow. Few of them, however, are able to have an eCommerce presence in a short time, and customers have limited access to cash money.

The PayLink app allows shops such as grocery stores, pharmacies, restaurants or any other merchants able to deliver good or services to request a payment using secure links sent over SMS or WhatsApp to their customers’ phone. The customer receives a payment link, can pay using their credit card or wallet directly without the need to download any app. Merchants get notified of the confirmed payment and they are able to deliver without the reliance on cash on delivery sales, which pose its own limitations.

The PayLink app also provides merchants with sales analysis reports and accounting, as well as the ability to create automatic reminders for delayed payments and schedule future and recurring payments.

It is worth noting that the PayLink app does not require store owners to have any online presence or change their workflow. It is a simple way of accepting online payment for phone orders and the service can be activated in less than 24 hours with a valid trade license.
